Last Day of Work

I had quite a full day today. Had to go into town to take Frances her passport as she'd forgotten it when she left this morning. So we picked her up and went for an Indian lunch. After that I decided to go look at glasses as I've had my current pair for almost 4 years now (which is at litte long). So, to cut a long story short, I got my eyes tested and got a new pair of Guess glasses with magnetic clip on sunglasses from Vision Express in the St James Centre.
After that, Toni and I headed for our very last shift at Scottish Gas. Just after we arrived there was a small presentation in our honour where we got a card and some gift vouchers, and we also got a nice buffet. We then spend the rest of the night doing as little as possible, cleaned out our lockers and pretty just sat around to be honest. It was kinda scary as, we happened to mention the fact that we are about to jet off to Greece for 2 weeks, staying in Poros the first wek and in Tolon the second, and one of the girl's from another team we were sitting next to suddenly got all excited, proclaiming that she and her mum have been going to Poros & Tolon every year for the past 6 years. he then proceeded to telss every detail about the towns and where we should eat, shop, what daytrips to look out for, etc, etc, etc. It was a lot of information to get over a reasonably short period of time but it was very nice to hear that the place should be good. Then, after our final 3 hours were up, we swiped out for the time, said our goodbyes, handed our security passes back and left for the final time.
It was kinda strange leaving as we've been working for Scottish Gas for the past 2 & 1/2 years. I have to admit tho, I will NOT miss the work but I definetly will miss the people.
Anyway, it's late and it's gonna be a LONG day tomorrow, so as Bugs Bunney always says at the end of the show - "That's all folks!".

A Digital Picture of Britain

Having read about in this month's issue of the Digital Photo magazine, I chanced upon a repeat of this new series on BBC FOUR the other night and I'm very glad that I did. The series is "part of A Picture of Britain" where "Eamonn McCabe and other top photographers chronicle Britain's urban, rural and industrial regions using the latest digital photographic technology.", and it was very interesting. It was so good, I have added the remaining episodes to my SKY+ planner for recording. At the end of the programme, I found out that they were running a competition where viewers could submit their photographs to the series website.
I have submitted the following 2 photos:

I have no illusions of success but it would be nice to see my photos published. I will update my blog if they are indeed published in the viewers gallery.

KMTC Video Night

Went to the Kingdom Musical Theatre Company Video night last night. It was a good laugh, spotted some slip-ups that I'd missed during the week. Also got to hear how I performed my big, BIG songs. I have to say overall I was pretty happy with what I did. I will never be absolutely happy with any performance, as anyone who knows me will tell you I don't have the greatest amount of self confidence in the world. Although, it's very hard to be self critical when everyone around you is complementing you on your performance (although I don't take complements very well).
I also had a chance to sound out people about coming along to Theatre 18-30 for Godspell, most of them showed a big interest which is good.

All Hail Macbeth!

So, on Sunday night I went round to a friend's house to see Macbeth starring Sir Ian MacKellen and Dame Judi Dench.

I should probably explain - Dunfermline Dramatic Society are currently looking at doing Macbeth on Auld Hallows Eve for Abbot's House and we will be casting it very soon, so I went round to actually see it (as I haven't seen it for a while).

It's probably the version that is the most true to the stage play. It was quite helpful.

Saturday

Well, yesterday both Toni and I finished work at 12.30. We were using up our remaining holidays at Scotish Gas as we're finishing up on Wednesday. We went for lunch at the Gyle (where I bagged a huge bargain, 4 computer books for £38 which RRP at about £100-150) and then headed to the World of Snooker at the Corn Exchange for a few games.

It was nice to have a Saturday we could actually do stuff, not that it was very exciting stuff, but all the same. Of course, now that we are finished at Scottish Gas (as of this Wed) we'll have all our saturdays back, which will be nice.

Later that night, we went for dinner at the new Crooked Glen Brewers Fayre in Dunfermline, then met up with some folks from DDS to go and see Sin City at 22.35. The film was pretty good, tho not everyone liked it.

I suppose it was something of an acquired taste and all in all I quite liked it. I would def recommend that if you fancy it, go see it - Mickey Rourke is great, he practically steals the film.

Well, I had my last exam today - Human Computer Interaction. It seemed to go okay. Am pretty sure I've done enought to pass and given my tutor said that my group has achieved at least 70% on our group project I pretty certain I'll have passed. Admitedly, I also pretty sure I'm going to have to resit a few over the summer but they should be fine. Just need to get my head down and get them done.

A Strange Thing

Tonight has been slightly strange. Strange in that, for a long time now, I have been rehearsing with DDS (Dunfermline Dramaic Society) on a Tuesday and a Thursday. So it's kinda strange to have a Thursday night where I'm not rushing out after dinner. Admittedly, Toni did try to get me to go to the pub quiz at the Ferry Tap but I thought I'd best be a good little boy and do some studying for my exam tomorrow.
The free time won't actually last long as I am about to embark on DDS's next production of "Macbeth". Ah well, best enjoy it while it lasts.

On another note - has anyone seen this man??

I was uploading some photos from the CYT Camelot after show party and stumbled across this shot of my mate Tomm. God he's scary when he wants to be!! Hehe, ah well, never mind. I'm sure his mother loves him.

New Canon EOS 300D D-SLR Camera

Well, I finally bit the bullet and bought the camera I had been lusting after for a while now.

I got it earlier than I was planning to, as this model has now been discontinued and stock seemed to be disappearing in my local area. I decided to get it from PC World at a price of £569 (Camera, lens and 1GB CF card).

So, on Sunday we all decided to take a drive up to the East Neuk for Robert's birthday. I thought this would be an ideal chance to try out my new toy, especially as the weather was great (something very rare in this part of the world).

I took this shot at Elie Harbour.
